Ayurveda & Ayushman Expo: World Congress 2019
On March 14th, 2019, the Faculty of Ayurveda, Indian Medical Sciences at Banaras Hindu University commenced the World Congress of Ayurveda (WCABHU-2019), emphasizing the significance of integrative medicine. Alongside the congress, the Ayushman Expo and Health Mela were also organized within the premises. Guided by Prof Yamini Bhusan Tripathi, the Dean of the Faculty of Ayurveda at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), the event aims to celebrate Ayurveda and its holistic approach to healthcare. It was a three day event and ended on March 19th, 2019.
The inauguration of WCABHU-2019 was carried out by Prof Rakesh Bhatnagar, the Vice Chancellor of BHU, and Padma Bhushan Vaidya Devendra Triguna, the President of the All India Ayurvedic Congress. Notable guests of honor included Vaidya KS Dhiman, the Director General of CCRAS (Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences), and Dr Dilip Govindrao Mhaisekara.
This esteemed event serves as a platform for experts, practitioners, and enthusiasts of Ayurveda to come together, exchange knowledge, and promote the integration of Ayurvedic principles into mainstream healthcare. WCABHU-2019 aims to showcase the immense potential of Ayurveda and its contributions to improving overall well-being.
The central theme of WCABHU-2019 revolved around the development of evidence-based Ayurvedic medicines and procedures. The congress aimed to showcase the latest advancements in the rapidly evolving field of healthcare, encompassing all aspects of theory, research, and practical application. The ultimate goal was to explore new possibilities and potential outcomes in healthcare, such as early diagnosis, raising awareness about preventive measures, and implementing a combined therapy approach through psychosomatic modulation and medicine.
Dr. Basu Eye Hospital’s presence:
We are delighted to have participated in WCABHU-2019 held at Banaras Hindu University, one of the most prestigious institutions in the country. This event was graced by the presence of U.P. Ratna Dr. M.S. Basu, the esteemed father of Dr. Mandeep Basu, who heads Dr. Basu Eye Hospital’s dedicated team oversees the conduct of the free health camps.
The successful event of WCABHU-2019 facilitated scientific sessions and panel discussions on various crucial topics. Dr. M.S. Basu’s discussions focused on advanced methods of innovation in Ayurveda, the impact and role of Ayushman Bharat in Ayurveda and the evolving landscape of Ayurveda education. The inclusion of these topics allowed for comprehensive exploration and exchange of ideas during the three-day event. The expertise and insights shared by Dr. M.S.
